Bucks Losing Streak at Phoenix Stands at Twenty-Four
By Bucks Tickets Jackson | Posted Wednesday, January 11
The Milwaukee Bucks road game losses continued on Sunday night, as they dropped their fifth consecutive game. The Phoenix Suns easily dismissed the Bucks 109-93. The loss extends the Bucks losing streak at Phoenix to twenty-four. The team last won in Arizona in 1987.
All five Suns starters scored in the double digits on Sunday, and shot nearly sixty percent from the field. The Bucks could barely contain rookie Markieff Morris. He scored thirteen points and led the Suns with ten rebounds. The win gives Phoenix their first back-to-back victories of the season, after defeating Portland 102-77 prior to their win against Milwaukee.
The Bucks were without some of their starters, but tried their best to keep up. The cards were stacked against the Bucks, as they were without Bogut, Luc Mbah A Moute, and Beno Udrih. The Bucks matched Phoenix point for point up until the end first half. The fun ended when Channing Frye started a 10-2 run by the Suns.
Phoenix would take a 57-47 lead going into the second half. They never looked back after they blew the game wide open during a 17-4 run in the third quarter. That run put the Suns up by 29. Two-time MVP Steve Nash was able to sit out the last fifteen minutes of the game. He still managed to amass a total of seventeen assists and ten points on night.
