Bucks Versus Bulls at Bradley Center
By JBrig | Posted Tuesday, February 7
There were more Bulls fans than Bucks supporters at the Bradley Center this weekend. They came to watch Chicago put Milwaukee back in its place. The Bucks recent resurgence might have given the team a boost in confidence over the past month, but reigning MVP Derrick Rose wasn’t going to let it get out of hand. Rose didn't miss a shot until just less than five minutes were left in the first half. The Bulls built a monstrous twenty-four point lead before halftime.
Fans were hoping for a repeat of star point-guard Brandon Jennings performance last year, in which he and Rose combined for fifty-nine points in the Bucks 107-100 victory. But Rose's counterpart for Milwaukee struggled right out of the gate, picking up two fouls early, resulting in just ten minutes of play in the first half. Jennings had scored at least twenty points in nine of the last ten contests, but was kept scoreless until the third. He would finish the night with just eight points off ten shots, and five assists.
Reserves Beno Udrih and Shaun Livingston attempted to step-up for the foul prone Jennings, but they were no match for the speed and accuracy of the Bulls MVP. Rose continued his domination of the Bucks defense; he now averages twenty-one points and nine assists against Milwaukee. Rose would end the night with numbers slightly better than his average, leading both teams with twenty-six points and thirteen assists.
Bucks Fall to 10-13 After Loss to Bulls
The loss is the Bucks second in two days and drops them to ten and thirteen on the year. The Pistons ended the team's three game win streak on Friday, after Milwaukee had won in their first meeting, and took down the Lakers and the Heat over the January-February transition. The Bucks will have a day of rest before they look to get back on the winning road against Phoenix on Tuesday.
