Milwaukee Bucks Schedule For January | West Coast Road Trip Starts with a Thud
By J.B. Bucks Fan | Posted Wednesday, January 4
The Milwaukee Bucks were optimistic as they headed into what some people would call the heat of their season. Winners of two of their three first games of the season, Milwaukee confidently headed to the west coast for five straight road games against some of the NBA's biggest names.
Starting Monday in Denver, the Bucks lost to the Nuggets, and then traveled to Utah to face the Jazz where they lost 73-85. On Thursday, the team plays in Sacramento, then goes on to play back-to-back games against the Clippers and Suns.In Denver, forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (who missed the first three games of the season,) will face his former college teammate, Arron Afflalo. The game against the Nuggets will be interesting for Mbah a Moute, as he was offered a four-year contract with the team just weeks ago.
Bucks versus Clippers at Los Angeles
The Clippers might be the toughest competition for the Bucks during their week-long trip. 2011 Rookie of the Year, Blake Griffin leads a troupe that includes the newly signed Chris Paul and Milwaukee-area native Caron Butler. In Phoenix, the team will try and break a twenty-three game losing streak. Milwaukee hasn't won in Arizona since 1986.
On a good note for the Bucks, their opponents will be working through their own demanding games. Both the Nuggets and the Kings will be playing their third game in as many nights when they face Milwaukee. The Kings will be especially vulnerable, as they come off of a road battle against the powerhouse Lakers. Head coach Scott Skiles hoped to give the Bucks the advantage, giving them a day of rest on Sunday before their long flight to Colorado. It didn’t seem to help, as Milwaukee dropped their first two games of this West Coast road trip.
